 International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Join this International Women’s Day exploration of the leadership of these two outstanding women from different areas of the African world.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a Nigerian writer whose works include novels, short stories and nonfiction best known for her themes of politics, culture, race, and gender. Her novels, short stories, and plays have all received both public and critical acclaim. For this program, we will examine her presentation, We Should all be feminists.

Mia Motley, an attorney and veteran politician has served as Prime Minister of Barbados since 2018 and as leader of the Barbados Labour Party since 2008. Perhaps most notably, she advocated for and steered Barbados through its transition to an independent republic, For this program we will explore her thoughts about self-contempt and the potential of the Caribbean region.
